Buyer’s Stamp Duty is a property tax taxable for all residential property depending on the purchase price. It is applicable for most of the mode of transfer (e.g. private treaty, transfer of shares, trust), except for via inheritance.

Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (BSD)

As of 16 Dec 2021, the government the latest rules of cooling measures to ease the rising prices of HDB and private housing market. Judging on the current measures, it is meant to reduce the pace of the double-digit growth occurred in 2021. The goal is not to make the prices to fall, but rather to align the housing market growth with our economic growth.
